| The Art School, that is!
The last remaining spot in Art School sold out 30 minutes before we started the first class. And since we have begun, things have not been as I expected…
they have been so. much.BETTER!
This is because when I was envisioning this program, I still had to envision the people would be join in the abstract.
And now, now I’ve had a chance to talk and email everyone at some length and even though it’s just what I wanted – all these brilliant, talented, big hearted and beautiful souled people – I just can still hardly believe it’s real. I had expected awesome, but already these women have made it more than I imagined and I am so grateful. Grateful to hear their stories, grateful for their dreams and visions, grateful for their courage and so grateful to be working with them for the next 12 weeks.
I got off the second class of the work, a group coaching call, and sat there stunned for a little bit. It’s ironic how The Art School is all about the Creative process that I so believe in and still, it staggers me the way it works when you trust it and follow on those dreams and ideas that come to you. Sometimes it is not what you expect.
Sometimes it is so much better.
Give yourself some room this weekend to sit down with a journal in a sunny, quiet corner with a cup of coffee or tea. Give yourself some time to let your imagination run wild Let yourself wander about your imagination, let yourself wonder about what you might do in the future- don’t try to nail it down to make it rational or figure out if it’s feasible or how you would do it. Do not try to figure out if you are good enough. Assume that if the idea thought you were good enough to descend upon, then you must have it somewhere in you to be equal to it, or to rise to meet it. Too often people allow themselves to get stopped way too early in the creative process by all the doubts and fears that arise about how “odds are, just realistically speaking, that it won’t turn out.”
But what if it does?
And what if, when it does, everything that is good not only outweighs the negative, but everything that is good is just so far, far better than you even imagined?!
It does happen that way. You can create it that way.
